Honda is preparing its 2022 Honda HR-V for the U.S.
Honda recently revealed its next-generation HR-V also known as the Vezel in Japan. Unfortunately, Honda is not making the arrival of this crossover in America. Instead, Honda is planning to launch a different version of the HR-V for the American market that will meet the exact needs of U.S. customers.
The new version of HR-V will be different from the launched version of the Honda Vezel in various countries. The company always makes changes based on customer’s demands, recently Honda discontinued the Fit from the U.S. and replaced this subcompact with a new fourth-generation model.
Still, U.S.people can get the chance to experience some features of Fit because HR-V and Fit shares the same platform, and maybe the new version of HR-V will follow the same platform. The new version will be bigger in the size. It will be around 70 inches long.
The next generation HR-V will be more stylish and it is going to be tall, upright front end with a steeply raked roofline. This crossover has already gained popularity in Europe. Europe will experience this next-generation Variant of HR-V with a hybrid system that consists of a gasoline-burning engine with two electric motors.
This is not a new thing for Honda to make a distinct version of a vehicle, especially for the North American market. You can take the example of a Honda Odyssey minivan- the company is offering it in two versions- one is bigger and another is compact. Honda already declared that they are increasing the production of HR-V, and since then it becomes the gateway models for the Honda.
The recent HR-V will continue as the 2021 model for the other regions and U.S. specific version will be arriving for the 2022 model. The company is launching the European-spec HR-V on February 18. The launch date for the U.S. hasn’t been finalized yet but we are expecting it to introduce before the end of 2021.
